Measurement in Math

We have been learning measurements in Math.  We learned how to measure foot, yard,inches and centimeters.  We did an activity today where the students were put into pairs and had to find things in the room that measured specified lengths.  We then shared what we found with the class.  Wow!! They did a super job with this and came up with many different items.
We are going to be learning about measurements having to do with recipes and cooking.  We will be making chex mix in the future.  The kids will be able to measure out the ingredients.  Please let your student help you cook at home!!

Kindergarten Buddies

On Monday we were able to travel to Lark and read stories to Mrs. Meier's and Mrs. Bechtal's kindergarten classes.  We were given a buddy and we will read to that buddy all year.  The students had so much fun reading and the kindergarteners were very good listeners.  We are planning to go back before Christmas break and read some Christmas stories.

Door Design

A big congratulations to the class for their work on our door design.  Our "Be Wise" owls won first place.  The class will be awarded with a pizza party in the near future!!!

Halloween

The students did a fantastic job with their fluency parade yesterday.  I was very proud of them!!! A good time was had by all at our halloween party following the parade.  Thank you to the parents that joined us and to all of you that brought goodies and made sure your child had their costume.
